OBSIDIAN (BLACK)

Protection | Grounding | Centredness

Black Obsidian is a powerful protection stone. It eliminates negative energies such as fear, anger, greed and resentment from both within one’s environment and from within oneself. Its energy creates a protective shield, helping one to remain centred when faced with negativity. Black Obsidian is also a strong grounding stone, enabling one to ground oneself to the Earth’s heart. A perfect combination.

Black Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass, formed when molten lava cools rapidly without crystallisation. Its name originates from the Latin obsidianus, referencing an ancient Roman who first described the stone.

Black Obsidian exhibits a hardness of 5/5.5 on the Mohs’ Scale.
