Hot fluids moved through the rock and altered it, and part of the original Feldspar broke down and recrystallised as Epidote, which is where the green comes from. The Feldspar that survived kept its pink. Quartz fills the gaps between them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003eEpidote and Feldspar sit at 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale and quartz at 7.
