Lepidolite is a lithium-rich mica mineral. Its name is derived from the Greek word lepidos, meaning scale, a reference to its layered, flaky structure. Lepidolite often forms in granitic pegmatites, displaying a shimmering, almost silky appearance due to its mica content.

Lepidolite is frequently found alongside other lithium-bearing minerals such as Tourmaline and Spodumene.

Agate exhibits a hardness of 2.5/4 on the Mohs’ Scale.
