- These Amethyst formations originate from the volcanic geodes of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The specimens develop within ancient basalt cavities, where silica-rich solutions slowly crystallised over millions of years to create these distinctive flower-like clusters.
The region's geological history stems from intense Cretaceous volcanic activity that created vast lava flows. As these basaltic rocks cooled, gas bubbles formed hollow cavities that later became the host environment for amethyst crystallization. The presence of iron and other trace elements in the surrounding volcanic matrix contribute to the characteristic purple colouration.
