Malachite is a Copper Carbonate Hydroxide mineral distinguished by its deep green colouration and concentric banded structure formed through secondary Copper mineralisation. This specimen has been shaped and polished into a freeform, revealing the mineral’s complex internal patterning and variations in crystalline structure.
The polished surface exposes dense radial formations, concentric growth structures and tonal variation ranging from dark green to vivid emerald. The layered composition reflects successive mineral deposition, while areas of natural inclusion and structural variation remain visible throughout the specimen.
Mounted on a display base, the piece presents the internal architecture of the Malachite and emphasises the mineral’s naturally occurring structural complexity.
