The Seymchan meteorite is a rare stony-iron Pallasite discovered in the Magadan region of Russia and classified as part of the Main Group Pallasites. Formed during the early development of the solar system approximately 4.5 billion years ago, Pallasites originate at the boundary between the metallic core and silicate mantle of differentiated planetary bodies.
This polished sphere displays suspended Olivine crystals enclosed within a nickel-iron meteorite matrix, revealing the characteristic internal structure associated with Pallasitic meteorites. The polished surface exposes translucent amber and bronze-toned Olivine sections distributed throughout the metallic host, creating pronounced contrast between silicate crystal and meteoritic metal.
The spherical polish allows the meteoritic structure and crystalline distribution to be viewed continuously across the surface, presenting the specimen as both a geological and extraterrestrial formation of exceptional rarity.
