A dynamic Chlorite Phantom Quartz cluster from Corinto, Minas Gerais, featuring a dense arrangement of sharply terminated Quartz crystals inter-grown in multiple directions. The transparent crystals are accented by golden-beige chlorite inclusions and phantom zones, creating a layered, almost skeletal appearance within the otherwise clear Quartz.
Formed within hydrothermal veins of Minas Gerais, the specimen grew from silica-rich fluids circulating through fractures in the surrounding rock. Periodic influxes of Chlorite-bearing fluids temporarily coated developing Quartz crystals before crystal growth resumed, encapsulating these layers within new Quartz. The result is a visually complex specimen that records multiple episodes of mineral deposition and crystal growth in a single cluster.
