This elegant vessel has been precision-carved from a single block of Brazilian rose quartz, its geometric form revealing the soft blush translucency for which this variety of quartz is celebrated. The angular, boat-like silhouette transforms raw mineral into functional sculpture, with light passing through the polished walls to illuminate the stone's delicate internal veiling.
Rose Quartz derives its signature pink coloration from microscopic inclusions of fibrous Dumortierite or related Borosilicate minerals dispersed throughout the Silicon Dioxide matrix. Recent research suggests that trace amounts of Phosphorus and Aluminium may also contribute to the colour, which ranges from barely-there blush to deep rose depending on inclusion density and distribution. This specimen displays the classic soft pink saturation with subtle clouding — the milky translucence characteristic of massive rose quartz formation.
Brazil's Minas Gerais state produces the majority of the world's gem-quality Rose Quartz, extracted from pegmatite veins where silica-rich fluids cooled slowly enough to allow the incorporation of colour-causing inclusions. Unlike crystalline Quartz varieties that form distinct terminated points, rose quartz typically occurs in massive form making it particularly suited to carving and lapidary work.
The faceted design of this piece honours the stone's crystallographic heritage while embracing contemporary form. Natural veining and subtle colour variations visible across the polished surfaces confirm the material's authenticity with no two pieces carved from natural rough will ever be identical.
Equal parts object and artifact, this vessel bridges the decorative and the geological — Brazilian earth, shaped by human hand into quiet, functional beauty.
