Sunstone is a Feldspar mineral prized for Aventurescence, an optical phenomenon produced by tiny plate-like inclusions that reflect light and create a glittering appearance. Depending on the concentration and orientation of these inclusions, the effect can range from a gentle glow to a vivid metallic sparkle. The rich autumnal tones of this specimen are complemented by excellent translucency and a soft vitreous lustre.

Indian Sunstone occurs within Feldspar-rich igneous and metamorphic rocks, where slow cooling and mineral growth allow reflective inclusions to develop within the crystal structure.
