- The Topaz occurs within Precambrian pegmatite formations that intruded into the crystalline basement rocks of the Ukrainian Shield approximately 1.7-2.0 billion years ago. These pegmatites formed during the late stages of granitic magma crystallisation, when volatile-rich fluids concentrated elements like fluorine and aluminium, essential components for topaz formation.
The topaz formed under high-temperature conditions (400-600°C) in fluorine-rich environments within the pegmatite cavities, often associated with other pegmatitic minerals such as Quartz, Feldspar, Muscovite Mica, and occasionally Beryl.
