These features provide a direct record of the mineral's formation history.

The Malkhan Pegmatite Field of eastern Siberia is one of the world's most celebrated localities for gem-quality Tourmaline. Formed within highly evolved granitic Pegmatites, these deposits developed as volatile-rich magmatic fluids concentrated rare elements during the final stages of crystallisation.
